- Do I get an MBA degree from Ohio-Manipal School of Business or from the College of business, Ohio University, USA?
You get an MBA degree from the College of Business, Ohio University, USA. Ohio-Manipal School of Business is the name of the school that offers Ohio University MBA degree in India.
- Is the course offered in Bangalore same as that in USA? Or is it different?
The course content and delivery is designed by the College of Business, Ohio University. The courses offered are the same. However, we have intentionally modified some course contents to suit the Indian corporate environment. This accounts to about 20% of the course material.
- How about the faculty?
A Major part of the course is delivered by the Ohio University Faculty. All of them are PhD holders, engaged in research in their respective fields and have taught students and executives all across the globe.
- Will Ohio University MBA equip me to be effective in the Indian Corporate Scenario?
Yes. There are built in mechanisms that help you appreciate domestic business situations. For instance

- The course on Domestic Business Environment, running throughout the program on every alternate Saturday, talks about Indian business environment from Economic and legal perspectives. This course helps student to apply of concepts learnt in other modules to various domestic business situations.
- Similarly, the course on Financial Institutions and Markets, Advertising & Brand Management, Business-to-Business Marketing as well as Sales & Distribution brings several cases relevant to the Indian Business Context.
- A guest Speaker series arranged on every alternate Saturday helps you to exchange views/experience from working business executive.
- I am in the final year of my undergraduate program. Am I eligible to apply to Ohio University MBA?
Yes. You are eligible to apply. You will be offered a tentative admission upon selection and you will have to furnish your final year marks card within six months from the first day of the program.
- US Universities ask for 16 years of schooling before admitting? Do I have to have sixteen years of schooling before joining your program?
No. It is sufficient if you have 15-year schooling for the admission to all offshore MBA programs. You will be doing Ohio University MBA in India. You will undergo a bridge program for initial three months. Hence, you are not required to have 16 year of schooling to get admission to Ohio University MBA program in Bangalore.
- Other MBA programs in India are of two-year duration. Will I loose out some papers if join a program of 18-month duration?
You will not loose out any paper in Ohio-MBA program although the program duration is 18-month. Because the program is structured around 13-14 hour working days with minimum number of holidays in between. All our students get vacation only twice during the program.
Another reason for the short duration is the existence of a bridge quarter. Bridge or Zero quarter provides fundamentals of Business Mathematics, Economics, Accounting, Business communication, personality development and computer skills. This brings every student to a common skill level (irrespective of his/her undergraduate education background) and thus helps to pitch the program at a higher level than other business programs in India.
Therefore the total program duration including the bridge quarter will be 18 months. This is of same duration as compared to any other MBA program in India (All MBA schools Begin their program during July first week and end the program in April First week. This makes their program for twenty months including two months summer holiday)
- What is the cost of the program?
The total cost of the program is Rs.5,25,000 payable in three equal installments of Rs. 1,75,000 each. First installment of Rs.1,75,000 is due at the time of admission.
- Whether the cost of the program includes the Living expenses?
No. Students will have to bear their lodging and boarding expenses. Students currently in residence spend about Rs.3000 towards their living expenses. This amount will vary depending on the type of accommodation (A or B or C type) and food habits (vegetarian or non-vegetarian)
- The cost of the program is very high. Can I get some financial assistance?
Yes. We do have financial assistance who are meritorious and in need of financial assistance. The assistance will come in the form of Scholarships, Tuition fee wavier or graduate assistance ship. The assistance will be provided to a maximum amount of Rs.1.5 lakhs.
- Will my chance to join your program get affected in any way, if I request for financial aid?
No. Admission decisions are independent of the decisions on the financial Aid. Financial Aid committee meets only after the admission decisions are made. The offer of the financial aid will be communicated well before the last date for the payment of the first installment of the tuition fee.
